Blue State Blue State (2007)
Blue State is the first film Anna has produced. She worked along side her brother Andrew Paquin for their production company Paquin Films. Anna also stared in film as character Chloe Hamon. The film tells the story of a Democratic campaigner, John Logue, who promises to move to Canada if President George W. Bush gets re-elected. When John Kerry is defeated by Bush Logue’s friends insists that he keeps his promise. For his trip to Canada he advertises for a partner and chooses the interesting Chloe, played by Anna.
“It’s an amusing way of poking at the two sides of the debate without being an overly political movie. There are just some sweet and funny and totally original moments in the movie.”

Aswell as starring in the film Anna was also heavily involved in the filmmaking, including casting and location scouting. The nuts-and-bolts numbers stuff is more my brother’s department; his background is finance,” she explains. “I think we’d be in trouble if I was the one crunching the numbers. The areas I was more concerned about were the creative ones. I have plenty of opinions on all kinds of things. So between our diverse backgrounds, my brother and I make a very good team.”
