Yeah, we a little late with the news, but here it is! By Nzherald.

Kiwi actress Anna Paquin has been nominated for two separate Golden Globes this year, an honour shared by Meryl Streep, Matt Damon and Sandra Bullock.

She received best actress nods for her lead role as Sookie Stackhouse in popular TV drama True Blood – for which she won the same award in January this year – as well as a part in the made-for-TV movie The Courageous Heart Of Irena Sendler.

The roles are vastly different – in True Blood, which is based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries novels by Charlaine Harris, she plays a telepathic waitress in small town Louisiana. Meanwhile, she takes on the part of a Polish social worker who smuggles Jewish children to safety during World War II in The Courageous Heart Of Irena Sendler.

As defending champion in the drama-series actress category, Paquin will compete with The Closer’s Kyra Sedgwick, Damages’ Glenn Close, Mad Men’s January Jones and The Good Wife’s Julianna Margulies.

True Blood has proved a runaway hit for HBO, and is now its most watched series since The Sopranos.

And we wish you a merry xmas!

Katie Holmes may have found romance with Tom Cruise in real life, but on the big screen she’s still looking for love. The actress has signed on to star opposite Anna Paquin in the upcoming indie romantic comedy, The Romantics.

According to Variety, the film originally starred Liv Tyler but she has recently been replaced with Holmes, who will also serve as an executive producer. The movie is set to start filming this week.

Holmes is just the latest to sign on in what is quickly becoming an all-star cast. Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody and Jeremy Strong are already on board.

The story follows the uncomfortable love triangle between a maid-of-honor (Holmes), a bride (Paquin) and a groom (Duhamel).

So with Holmes just finished with a role in the upcoming horror film Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, and Paquin thrilling fans as Sookie in True Blood, it looks like The Romantics will have plenty of star talent to go around.
